10 egg yolks
1 can evaporated milk
1 can condensed milk
4 tablespoons sugar, to make caramel
2 teaspoons vanilla
In a tin oblong lanera pan, caramelize the granulated sugar by directly cooking on top of the stove on low heat. Set aside.
Mix egg yolks, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. Add the vanilla. Pour 1/2 of the mixture to each lanera pan and cover with aluminum foil. Steam for 1 hour in a big wok with the lid on or bake in the oven at 375* for 1 hour. When baking in the oven, put hot water on a pan ad position it under the laneras.
*Laneras are oblong shaped tin containers commonly used to make Leche Flans. You can purchase them mostly at Asian stores. They are inexpensive.
